Fourteen Large Explosions Rock Central

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Fourteen large
explosions rocked central Baghdad early on Friday as war planes
roared overhead, a Reuters witness said.
Correspondent Nadim Ladki said the blasts in the center of the
city came shortly after a series of explosions were heard in the
south and southwest of Baghdad from the general direction of the
airport.
U.S. Marines were fighting for control of the airport in the
first ground attack in the capital in the 16-day battle to oust
Iraqi President Saddam Hussein (news
